📢 IMPORTANT UPDATE: BIR Extension for Nonresident Digital Service Providers

​The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has issued RMC No. 006-2026, extending the deadline for the filing of tax returns and VAT payments for NRDSPs.

​Original Deadline: January 25, 2026
​NEW Extended Deadline: 🗓️ January 30, 2026

​This extension is due to reported technical issues with the VAT on Digital Services (VDS) portal. Make sure to settle your filings before the new cutoff to avoid penalties!

The Bureau of Internal Revenue has consulted the private sector on proposed audit reforms and set the stage for the resumption of tax audits following the LOA suspension.

Key reforms discussed include a single-instance electronic LOA per taxpayer per year, risk-based and system-assisted audit selection, and stronger safeguards to ensure due process and prevent abusive or inflated assessments. Led by Charlito Martin Mendoza, the initiative forms part of the BIR’s D.A.R.E.S. reform agenda and has received positive feedback from private sector groups.
