The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), in coordination with the Department of Energy (DOE) and the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), is now opening applications for participation in the SEC Strategic Sandbox (StratBox) for the pilot implementation of an Electricity Derivative Market (EDM) platform.

This initiative aims to provide a controlled and supervised environment for testing innovative financial products and market infrastructure linked to electricity derivatives while ensuring investor protection, market integrity, and sound risk management.

Applications are now open for eligible proponents involved in the development and operation of EDM platforms and related market infrastructure.
