This bagger’s shoes were one inch bigger than his feet. 😭

By the end of my grocery run, I had three carts that were overflowing and it took me quite awhile to finish. Nabusy lola ninyo nung January eh, so my kids were already saying we will die soon 😝. Ayun sobrang dami tuloy ng kailangan i-restock.

I noticed however that this bagger’s work was so pulido. He was organized, made extra effort to make sure the boxes were secured with the straw ropes, and he worked fast! By the time, we were supposed to load the stuff in my car, walang ibang baggers na available para makatulong sa kanya. So he ended up pushing two carts and I pushed the other one. As we were walking, napansin ko that he was shuffling his feet. Sobrang luwag ng shoes nya 😥.

After he loaded the stuff, I gave him money to buy shoes. And then told him na maayos sya magtrabaho, ituloy nya lang. tapos wag nya ibigay sa nanay nya yung pera 🤣🤣🤣. Bili sya shoes.

He wiped his face. Naiyak. 🙃 thank you ng thank you, and even when he was walking away, punas pa rin ng punas.

Again, I am not sharing the story para magmukhang mapagbigay. My point is that our biggest investments as humans is in humans. Now, I don’t know if he will spend that money in something else. I don’t know if it will make a difference in his life. It did, in mine.

The reason of being financially prepared always boils down to your family. You know that no matter what will happen during old age your kids can't turn their back away from you. The sad part is this is taken in a wrong context. With our culture, we thought getting old is our children's responsibility.

Our obligation doesn't only stop in sending them to school and providing their needs. A good and a strong foundation for our retirement is the best gift we can give to our kids. This will give them more resources to focus on their family's needs someday.

It's good to secure the future of our kids but never forget yours. Imagine the scenario where we were able to send our kids to college and get a good job after but in the end they are obliged to financially support us because we have failed to manage our retirement days.

Thus the students began laughing on and off...

Came afternoon math class started and their teacher wrote a difficult question on the board.

No one was able to answer it except the boy with the sticker.

Amid the unexplained giggles, he walked toward the board and solved the problem.

The teacher asked the class to clap for him and remove the paper on his back.

She told him: "It seems that you don’t know about the paper your classmate has pasted on your back."

Then the teacher looked at the rest of the class and said:

"Before I give you a punishment, let me tell you 2 things:

First, throughout your Life, people will put labels on you with many nasty words to stop your progress.

Had your classmate known about the paper, he wouldn't have gotten up to answer the question.
