“The insured was the wife of my close friend who got her first Life Insurance policy in March 2020 when she was 7 MONTHS PREGNANT, their firstborn. For the past 4 years, we have always talked about the importance of preparing for the future but somehow it was pushed back to prioritize bills such as mortgage payments, and other expenses.

Finally, last year, they decided to secure the future of their upcoming child since they will be starting a family. She was so happy that she got approved for her first life insurance policy.

TWO MONTHS INTO THE POLICY, after giving birth to a healthy baby girl, the insured died of unexpected complications. As the husband tries to recover from the loss of her beloved wife, her legacy lives on with their daughter and the fund to help secure her future. The husband, as her beneficiary, received a Php 1 Million death claim benefit from her policy.

CREATE will immediately reduce the CIT rate from 30% to 25% by July 2020 and further reduce it to 20% from 2023 to 2027. This will make the Philippines at par with the ASEAN average and help attract multinational firms seeking alternative sourcing markets and manufacturing bases.

According to Habito, CREATE “has to be part of the effort to protect and create even more jobs.” The reform will also allow businesses, especially micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), to keep more resources for retaining their employees and continuing operations during and after this crisis.
