Big relief for small businesses: SEC may exempt them from audits to focus on high-risk firms The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is pushing to exempt micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from the requirement to submit audited financial statements, aiming to cut costs and simplify compliance for the country’s smallest businesses.
