We know things are feeling tight right now, and cost increases are never easy but there is a change to gate charges at the Rotorua South Resource Recovery Park 👇

From 1 May 2026, Waste Management (who operate the old landfill site) will be increasing rates for general refuse, green waste and concrete.

The increase reflects rising industry costs over the past year including operations, labour, fuel, and changes in legislation. Put simply, the cost of getting rid of waste is rising everywhere.

Remember that every item we recycle correctly, every time we choose products with less packaging, or give something a second life, it’s one less thing going to landfill 🤝
