The sales trick nobody teaches you?
Actually give a damn about your client. 👇
Sounds simple, right?
But here’s the truth:
A lot of salespeople aren’t really thinking about the client.
They’re thinking:
“How do I close this deal?”
“How do I hit my target?”
“How do I get my commission?”
And there’s nothing wrong with wanting to make money.
But your mindset changes when you start asking:
“How can I genuinely help this person get the result they want?”
That’s when sales gets easier.
Instead of obsessing over your close rate, start obsessing over their outcome.
What are they actually trying to achieve?
More wealth?
A better home?
A smarter investment?
More financial security?
Whatever it is, understand it.
Listen to them.
Ask better questions.
Don’t just hear what they’re saying—understand why it matters to them.
Because when you genuinely care about helping someone, they can usually tell.
You don’t sound like you’re forcing a sale.
You sound like someone trying to solve a problem.
And that’s where trust comes from.
The best salespeople aren’t necessarily the ones with the smoothest scripts.
They’re the ones who can honestly say:
“I want this to work for you too.”
And here’s the interesting part:
When you stop chasing the commission and start chasing the client’s result, you often end up making more money anyway.
Because satisfied clients come back.
They refer people.
They trust you.
They remember how you made them feel.
So here’s the reminder:
Care first.
Add value second.
Close third.
The money will follow.
“Is this your final price?”
That question can make a lot of salespeople uncomfortable.
Negotiation isn’t always about price. It’s about confidence. 👇
3 messages that can turn a ghosted prospect into a response 👇
Let’s be honest.
Sending:
“Just wanted to circle back…”
or
“Hope you’re doing well. Just checking in…”
usually doesn’t give the prospect a reason to reply.
If someone has gone quiet, try changing the conversation instead.
🎯 Message 1: Be direct
“Hey [Name], just checking in—do you have any questions, or would you like us to move forward?”
Simple.
You’re not chasing them. You’re giving them a clear next step.
🎯 Message 2: Add a little personality
If they still haven’t responded, try:
“Hey [Name], I haven’t heard back from you, so I just wanted to make sure everything is okay. Totally fine if you’ve decided not to move forward—just let me know so I know where we stand.”
Sometimes giving people permission to say no makes it easier for them to finally respond.
And if your relationship with the prospect is casual, you can add a little humor:
“You haven’t disappeared on me, have you? 😂 Just checking that you’re good.”
🎯 Message 3: Use a pattern interrupt
Still nothing?
Try something different:
“Hey [Name], you were interested when we spoke, and then you disappeared on me like we went on one bad date 😂. Should I assume you’ve changed your mind?”
It’s unexpected.
And that’s the point.
You’re breaking the predictable “just following up” pattern.
But here’s the important part:
Don’t keep chasing forever.
If you’ve made several genuine attempts and there’s still no response, move on.
Your time is valuable.
And when you eventually want to re-engage, don’t come back with another:
“Just checking in…”
Come back with value.
For example:
“Hey [Name], I came across something that reminded me of what you told me about [specific challenge]. Are you still looking for a solution to that?”
Now you’re not showing up because you need something from them.
You’re showing up because you have something relevant to offer.
Sometimes the most powerful follow-up is knowing when to stop following up.
