And so concludes our 3 wonderful days at Sheraton Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

Our Partners & Directors had an incredible time in the Land Below the Wind during our Network Conference 2026. The adventurous ones took the opportunity to try Butod, one of Sabah’s traditional delicacies, while the rest of us decided… “maybe another time 😄”

It was truly a memorable few days of learning, upskilling, strengthening bonds, enjoying breathtaking sunsets and cruises, and indulging in the amazing local cuisine.

Here’s to stronger connections, shared experiences, and many more meaningful moments together.

This afternoon, Baker Tillians took a breather from their busy work day to enjoy cookies, ice-cream and coffee. Always good to be able to catch-up with our colleagues across the various departments during simple yet meaningful gatherings such as this.

At the MARA International Accounting Conference MiCA 2026, held at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur yesterday, our Dato’ Lock Peng Kuan, Managing Partner for Audit & Assurance, joined YBhg. Dato’ Seri Wan Suraya, Auditor General of Malaysia, and Tan Boon Yow, Deputy Managing Partner from EY Consulting, in a panel session moderated by Mak Wai Kit from Deloitte.

The session centred on the evolving auditing landscape and Artificial Intelligence AI centred on how technology is reshaping the audit profession in a very real way today.

Such a lively session. It is clear that the path ahead will continue to be relevant and purposeful for the audit profession, who must continue to uphold the fundamentals of trust and accountability.

In the recent announcements, the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRB) and the Ministry of Finance (M*F) introduced key updates to Malaysian Income Tax Reporting System reporting requirements and e-Invoicing implementation.

Congratulations to EI Power Berhad for the launch of their prospectus today. They are slated to be listed on the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad soon!
EI Power Berhad is mainly involved in supplying mission-critical power systems to data centres that require large-scale, complex generation and distribution systems and offers conventional power solutions for commercial, industrial and residential buildings.

Baker Tilly Malaysia is proud to be the statutory auditors and Reporting Accountants for this IPO and we are looking forward to celebrating the official listing of EI Power Berhad on Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad on 21 May 2026.

It was a wild and wet evening for Baker Tillians at the Songkran Festival at 1 Utama yesterday. Such a great experience just letting our hair down this way.
