A cool analysis on Kenyan Employment workforce.
For your information as at 2024 out all the employed personnel in Kenya
I)36,955 earned below Ksh19,999
ii)104,206 Kenyans Earned between ksh20,000 to Ksh29,999.
iii)1.36M Kenyans earned between Ksh 30,000 to Ksh 50,000
iv)1.46M Kenyans earned between Ksh50,000 to Ksh 100,000
v)With only 397,541 i.e 12% of the employed Kenyans earning above Ksh100,000
On this the world Bank proposes that anyone earning bellow Ksh 32,333 should be excepted from paying Housing Tax(Levy) and Social Health Insurance (SHI) this is aimed at boosting the Disposable Income for the Low earners.
Secondly the Work Bank is also proposing that PAYE tax rate to be revised as follows:
Below Ksh 24,000 tax rate @ 0%
Ksh 24,000- Ksh32,334 @15%
Ksh 32,335-Ksh166,666 @25%
Ksh166,667-Ksh500,000 @32.5%
500,001-800,000 @35%
While anyone earning above 800,000 be taxed at 38%
It's clear the world at large a feeling the weight that the Kenyan People are carrying on their shoulders and Government is likely to react on it bearing in mind the have already proposed a 0% on individuals earning bellow Ksh 30,000 and a reduction in tax rate to 25% for Ksh 30,000 to Ksh 50,000 bracket earners.
We wait to see if Big earners who are the people amending the Country laws and proposal will give in to World Bank proposals
