Amendment in Maternity Benefits Act.
1) The duration of maternity leave is increased from 12 weeks to 26 weeks.
2) For a woman who has 2 or more children, the maternity benefit will continue to be 12 week and cannot be availed before Six weeks from the date of the expected delivery.
3) Facilitate Work from home
4) Grants of 12 weeks of maternity leave to a) a woman who legally adopts a child below 3 months of age. and b) A commissioning mother.
5) Mandatory provision of Creche in respect of establishment having 50 or more employees
6) Requires every establishment to intimate in writing and electronically to every woman at the time of her appointment, the maternity benefits available to her.
