🌟 New Nature of Business/Profession Codes Added in Income Tax Return Utility! 🌟

The Income Tax Department has introduced new codes under “Nature of Business/Profession” in the ITR utility to better classify business segments and improve data analysis.

🔹 Major additions include:
🟣 09029 – Commission Agents (Kachcha Arahitya)
🟣 16021 – Social Media Influencers
🟣 21009 – Speculative Trading
🟣 21010 – Futures and Options Trading
🟣 21011 – Buying and Selling Shares

⚠️ Important:
With more detailed breakup for Equity & Derivative transactions, careful reporting is required. Notices under Section 143(2) have been issued for AY 24-25 where F&O transactions were incorrectly reported.

CBDT Circular No. 07/2025 – Another Time-Limit Extension for The Department

CBDT has issued Circular No. 07/2025 dated 25.06.2025, granting relaxation in the statutory time limit prescribed for processing of valid returns filed pursuant to condonation of delay orders under Section 119(2)(b).

Relaxation is apparently due to unspecified "technical reasons." . So instead of defaulting, they’ve extended their own deadline.

The new processing cut-off date is now 31.03.2026.
