New Age Actors' Theatre - NAAT

Mattresses, pillows, and bedsheet/pillow cover sets for 40 flood-affected families in Jorhat have been purchased.

As part of the relief initiative supported through the Art for People Puppet Show and Cultural Evening fundraiser, PuppetPeople Assam, the puppetry wing of NAAT Foundation, contributed towards purchasing the mattresses and pillows, while NAAT Foundation purchased the bedsheets and pillow covers from Fancy Bazaar.

Our heartfelt thanks to Samir Sankar D Baruah dada for his untiring efforts in coordinating this support. We are also grateful to the shopkeepers in Fancy Bazaar for helping us with discounts, and to Amlan Khound dada, owner of Trinayan, for arranging to transport the items from Guwahati to Jorhat free of cost through his daily bus service.

Thank you to everyone who donated and supported the fundraiser. We are still trying to raise more funds, as there are many more families yet to be reached.

Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us for our Puppet Show & Cultural Evening for Assam Flood Relief at Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva Vishwavidyalaya.

The programme featured devotional and musical performances by Hillol Bezbaruah, performances by students of the Department of Performing Arts, Sattriya dance recital, and two original puppet productions by PuppetPeople Assam, the puppetry wing of NAAT Foundation; “Xeuji Dhoroni Dhuniya” and “Datanondo Babar Kahini.” Through music, dance and puppetry, the evening highlighted the importance of caring for the environment while encouraging the audience to stand in solidarity with people affected by the floods. The event was supported by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Ashok Kumar Borah; Prof. Niranjan Kalita, Head of the Department of Performing Arts; Sri Mrinal Kumar Gogoi, Campus In-charge and Assistant Registrar; Asst. Prof. Xunmoni Sharma; participating artists, volunteers and students of the University.

Together, we were reminded that art can do more than entertain,it can bring people together in compassion and inspire meaningful action.

We will soon share updates on the funds raised and the relief work undertaken through this initiative.

We're delighted to invite you to our Summer Family Puppetry Workshop, a joyful 3-day online beginner's workshop where families will learn to make sock puppets, paper puppets, create and perform stories together and experience the magic of puppetry from the comfort of home.

This isn't just a puppetry workshop. It's a chance to slow down, laugh together, spark conversations and enjoy meaningful parent-child time through creativity and storytelling.
