HTSAS brings you Session 4 with Mr. Ankur Warikoo, Founder & CEO of Nearbuy.

Mr. Ankur Warikoo is Founder & CEO of Nearbuy, India’s first hyper-local online platform that enables customers and local merchants to discover and engage with each other.

Mr. Warikoo has been an Internet entrepreneur since 2008. In 2008, he co-founded Accentium Web that ran websites such as Gaadi.com, Secondshaadi.com, Taaza.com amongst others. He has also served as a Venture Partner at Rocket Internet, an investor in multiple internet startups across the world.

He was part of Fortune Magazine’s 40 under 40 List for India, has been named as India’s Top Executives under 40 by Business Today and has been awarded the Social Media Entrepreneur of the Year by Silicon Review. He is a regular public speaker and social media influencer, with 500,000+ followers across Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter etc.

In this session, Mr. Warikoo will talk about his journey as an entrepreneur and his key learnings and also share his outlook on the Indian e-commerce and Online to Offline sector.

Founded in 2015 by Dharmil Sheth and Dhaval Shah, Mumbai-based PharmEasy is a pharma aggregator, which connects patients with local pharmacy stores and diagnostic centres. Its services are available across multiple cities, offering a wide range of products across prescription and non-prescription category. The company is looking to build a full-stack model, wherein a patient, doctor and pharmacist can interact on one platform.

About the speaker:
Mr. Dharmil Sheth

Mr. Dharmil Sheth is the co-founder of PharmEasy, the leading medical and healthcare app in India that connects consumers with local pharmacies and diagnostic centres. The company has grown from a small five-member team working out of one of the co-founders' parents' spare office space to a 300 member-strong team spread across seven cities.
Prior to PharmEasy, he founded 91 Streets, a shopping search platform and BoxPlay Sports, a world-class sports infrastructure set-up for teams and individuals to play soccer and cricket.
Mr. Sheth has also laid the foundation of and is President of Ekagrata Foundation, an NGO which works towards the welfare of underprivileged children. In his free time, he likes to teach these children and play a role in shaping up their future.

Springboard is a US- and India-based online education startup Springboard, which offers professional courses. The company functions out of San Francisco and Bengaluru. The company offers one-on-one mentoring and professional online courses for early and mid-level professionals in data science, UX design, digital marketing and other new-economy fields where demand for talent exceeds supply.

About the session:

Parul Gupta is currently the Co-Founder of Springboard, Parul
is an IIT Bombay and UCLA alumnus.

The session is planned as a sector sweep for the ed-tech industry, where the discussion would touch upon Parul's journey, why she chose to startup in this sector, her journey from college to research to starting-up, what helped the Springboard team succeed, the current trends, enablers and opportunities in the space and what lies ahead for Springboard and Parul.
