Last week, Private Capital held its 25th Anniversary at the Hong Kong Club. We thank everyone who joined us in our momentous celebration. A big thank you to those who have travelled from countries across the world to celebrate with us. We appreciate your support and hope you had a great time.

Each year, Private Capital enters a team to raise money and awareness for hospice care. This was the first in-person Hike for Hospice event post-Covid, with Rick Adkinson, Mathew Bate, and George Adkinson representing Private Capital. This year's event was hosted in Tai Lam, on a very wet and windy day, a stark contrast to our virtual event a couple of years ago, where Rick completed all four major trails in four months and George completed the Hong Kong Trail in less than 9 hours on a hot April day.

It’s that time of year again when some of us have received our Hong Kong tax return. The Tax Deductible MPF Voluntary Contributions (TVC) is a great way to earn some tax relief under salaries tax. By paying into an eligible MPF scheme that provides TVC, you can contribute directly to the maximum of HK$60,000 per year, which can reduce your annual tax bill by up to HK$10,200. The Hong Kong tax year begins on 01 April and ends on 31 March of the following year therefore you only have until next week to fulfil your TVC for the 2021/22 tax year.

For future contributions, if it’s easier to contribute on a month-to-month basis, you can easily set up a direct debit from your bank account to contribute HK$5,000 each month towards the maximum of HK$60,000 per year.
