HMRC has released the latest figures [1] revealing how many tardy taxpayers failed to meet the 31 January deadline for self assessment.

Annoyingly, the £60k and £80k thresholds are applied to individuals. So a couple each on £60k pa will receive full child benefit. However, a single parent on £80k pa will lose all child benefit. HMRC and the Government are aware of this and are working towards resolving this silly rule...

As per usual, HMRC have had to put on hold making tax digital for Self Assessment. Was to start April 24 with those with a turnover above £10k. Now it April 26 with turnover over £50k and a year after, those over £30k
