The Autumn Budget 2025 is here… and it’s a mixed bag at best.
Income tax thresholds are frozen yet again, which quietly pushes more people into higher tax bands as wages rise. That’s fiscal drag in action – you end up paying a bigger slice of your income in tax even when your real spending power isn’t increasing.
For small business owners, it’s even tougher. Dividend tax is increasing for basic and higher-rate taxpayers, while the additional rate stays untouched. That means the people actually running and growing small companies take the hit, not those at the very top. It’s hard to call this “pro-business” with a straight face. 😐
Overall? A disappointing budget that adds pressure without offering meaningful support. Small businesses deserved better – especially in a year where growth and stability should be the priority.

We are looking for a proactive individual who has good time-management and communication skills and is self-motivated.

This is an ideal role for someone develop their career in accountancy and wish to become chartered in future.
You will be helping reconciling client bank accounts, preparing and drafting payroll for review, categorising expenses and reviewing transactions in Xero, the software we use.

It would be great if you have experience using Xero and Dext Prepare software already and at least 2 years experience in bookkeeping and/or accounting.
