Great night at the Keighley Business Awards celebrating the fabulous businesses in Keighley.

The awards are a brilliant opportunity to recognise the hard work, innovation and achievements of businesses across Keighley and Airedale.

'Do I really need to worry about Making Tax Digital yet?'

If you're a sole trader or landlord with over £50,000 a year from self-employment and property, MTD for Income Tax has applied to you since 6 April 2026. HMRC has been signing up eligible clients based on 2024-25 income over £50,000.

Ignore it and you risk missed deadlines, compliance issues and stressful last-minute scrambles.

Accountex Manchester 2026 ✅

The Torus Accounting team spent the day exploring what's new in the accounting world 🌍

We looked at new software, AI and technology solutions and attended some really thought-provoking sessions with the aim of improving client experience when working with us.

A few of the biggest takeaways for us were:

🤖 AI and automation – this is the future and we are keen to use technology that can remove repetitive admin for both us and our clients to spend more time doing what really matters: helping clients succeed in their businesses.

⚙️ Better internal processes – finding ways to streamline our workflows, improve efficiency and make sure the client journey is as smooth as possible.

📈 More time for advisory – our goal is to be more than compliance and by using technology to reduce the time spent on routine tasks we can focus more on helping our clients understand their businesses and make better-informed decisions.

We’re now working through everything we saw and deciding which solutions could genuinely add value to Torus Accounting and our clients.

Companies House has updated its login system. As of December 1, 2026, objections to a company being struck off must be submitted via the 'Make an objection' online service. New users will need a GOV.UK One Login, while existing users can still use their current details for now but must transition later.
