Salon International starts tomorrow, and I’m really looking forward to being there.

I’ll be joining the Business Stage on Sunday 4th October at 11am for a panel discussion on salon profit and why many salons are leaving money on the table.

If profit, pricing, service structure or understanding what your salon actually keeps are things you’ve been thinking about, this is a conversation worth joining.

Come along to the Business Stage at 11am, or say hello if you see me and the team at the event.

I’ll be on the Business Live Stage as part of a panel talking about salon profit, and why small changes to things like pricing, consultation time and service structure can make a real difference to what the salon keeps.

This is such an important conversation, especially for salon owners who feel busy but still want more clarity around profit.

If you’re coming to Salon International, please come along and say hello — I’d love to see you there.

More clients can help, but they do not automatically fix a profit problem.

If the numbers behind the salon are not clear, the business can become busier without actually keeping more.

Pricing, service timings, product costs, VAT, wages and cash flow all affect what is left after the work is done.

That is why profit needs to be looked at properly — not guessed from how full the diary is.

Save this as a reminder, and if you’re attending Salon International, come along to the Business Stage on Sunday 4th October at 11am.

We’re getting really excited for Salon International!

I’ll be there with some of the team, and it would be lovely to meet clients, salon owners and familiar faces properly in person.

So if you’re coming along, please do come and say hello!

I’ll also be on the Business Stage on Sunday 4th October at 11am, talking all things salon profit.

Come and find us at Salon International, we’d love to see you there.

Having self-employed stylists does not automatically mean VAT is no longer an issue.

The VAT position depends on how the setup actually works, how money flows through the salon, and what the salon is supplying.

This is why it is important to get advice before changing the structure.

If you want your salon setup reviewed properly, book a free discovery call via the link in our bio.

I’ll be on the Business Stage on Sunday 4th October at 11am, talking about salon profit — something I know so many salon owners are trying to get clearer on at the moment.

Because being busy is one thing, but understanding what the salon is actually keeping is where the real work often starts.

If you’re coming along, I’d love to see you there. Please do come and say hello.

A busy salon is not always a profitable salon.

If the diary is full but the bank still feels tight, it may be time to look at what the business is actually keeping after wages, products, VAT, rent, bills and tax.

This is exactly why conversations around salon profit matter.

I’ll be speaking at Salon International on Sunday 4th October at 11am on the Business Stage, where we’ll be talking about how salons can improve profit and understand the numbers behind the business.

If you’re coming to Salon International, come along to the Business Stage or say hello if you see me there.

Working with salon owners, there are two areas that keep coming up again and again when profit is not where it should be.

I’ll be talking more about this, along with the other panellists, at Salon International on Sunday 4th October at 11am on the Business Stage.

If this is something you’ve been thinking about in your own salon, please come along or DM me if you’d like help looking at your numbers.

I was reading an article in The Times about knowing when it might be time to switch accountants, and one point really stood out:

“It makes sense to look for an accountancy firm with experience in the sectors and markets in which you operate.”

That’s exactly why The Salon Expert Accountants exists.

We work with hair, beauty and aesthetic businesses every day, so we understand the industry, VAT, payroll, self-employed teams, chair and room renters, commission structures and salon growth.

Another important point was:

“Changing accountants is much less disruptive than is often feared.”

We’ll request the information we need from your previous accountant and make sure everything is transferred across smoothly. We now also have a dedicated onboarding manager who will guide you through the process and keep you updated every step of the way.

Changing accountant shouldn’t create another job for a busy salon owner.

Your accountant should understand your numbers — and your industry too.

A busy salon can still feel tight if the numbers behind the business are not clear.

Profit is not just about how many clients are booked in. It is about what the salon actually keeps after wages, products, VAT, tax, rent and other costs are covered.

That is why pricing, cash flow and understanding your numbers matter so much.

I’ll be joining the Business Stage at Salon International on Sunday 4th October at 11am to talk more about salon profit.

Save this as a reminder, and if you’re coming to Salon International, come and say hello.
