I have come so far and part of me still can’t believe it myself but I am now Managing Director of my very own Independent Financial Advice firm. I keep pinching myself as this has been my dream since I graduated and I can’t tell you how much this means to me.

Before I started The Woodham Partnership in 2016, I went for an interview at an advice firm and told them I was looking for a role which will progress to me being an Independent Financial Adviser. The owner replied to me “you are far too young and you will never be able to be an adviser before the age of 30”.

Well all I have to say to you is how wrong you were! At the age of 30 I am a successful adviser with specialised pension transfer and specialised investment permissions and now own my own company with a lovely client bank.

Moral of the story is never give up on your dreams no matter what anyone says, even if they are a successful business owner themselves! Hard work and perseverance will get you there.

A little gift of appreciation from one of my clients. I always think “I am only doing my job” but in actual fact there are many people doing the same role but will provide very different levels of service. I was always brought up to treat other people how you would want to be treated and to also provide advice/service to a high standard that you would want your family to receive.

The financial advice industry has changed a lot over the years and it is now focused on providing a service and not just selling products.

Recently I was at a training event and was shown this statistic:

Independent Financial Adviser - I wanted to create this page for people to understand my role of a financial adviser and how they can benefit from seeking professional advice. Financial matters is a minefield to the majority of people which is why I strive to avoid the jargon and make it easy to understand.
