Companies House WebFiling security issue – what you should know:
• Companies House recently temporarily suspended its WebFiling service after a technical security issue was identified.
• The issue meant it may have been possible for someone to view or potentially change certain company information without proper authorisation.
• Companies House took the system offline while the issue was investigated and security measures were reviewed.
• The WebFiling service has now been restored.
• Companies House are continuing to investigate the issue and have reported it to the relevant authorities.
• As a precaution, company directors may wish to check their company record to ensure that no unauthorised changes have been made.
• If anything looks incorrect on your company record, it should be reported to Companies House as soon as possible.

Making Tax Digital (MTD) – Important Reminder
Over the past few weeks and months we have contacted all clients of the practice who we have currently identified as being affected by the new Making Tax Digital rules starting in April 2026.
MTD is a very significant change to the way income is reported to HMRC. It means bookkeeping must move to digital software, with quarterly reporting throughout the year rather than one annual tax return.
This change will place significant pressure on the accountancy profession, with strict submission deadlines applying to everyone at the same time. As a result, support and cooperation from clients will be essential to ensure everything runs smoothly.
It is also important to understand that 2026 will effectively involve two tax years being dealt with at the same time. We will still need to complete the 2025/26 accounts and tax returns in the usual way, while also dealing with real-time reporting for the 2026/27 tax year under MTD.
We have already signed up the majority of affected clients and have procedures in place ready for April. There are some clients who still haven’t engaged with us so maybe still have their heads in the sand!
If you think you may be affected and have not yet been in touch about MTD, please contact the office as soon as possible.

📢 Companies House confirmation statement fee – a big increase
As of 1st February 2026, Companies House has increased the annual confirmation statement filing fee again.
This is the form that every UK limited company must file each year to confirm its details are correct.
Here is how the cost has changed if filed electronically:
• For many years the fee was £13
• From May 2024 it increased to £34
• From 1st February 2026 it is now £50
That is almost a four-fold increase for exactly the same annual filing.
There has been no change to what you have to do — you are still confirming the same company statutory information each year — but the cost to do so has risen sharply as part of wider Companies House reforms and increased compliance requirements.

They currently have a 2021 LEVC VN5 available — and from what I can see, it seems a great price for a van like this. It would look fantastic sign-written as well!

🚨 Important reminder for all company directors 🚨
From 18th November 2025, every company director, PSC (person with significant control), and anyone submitting filings on behalf of a company must verify their identity with Companies House.
This forms part of the new Companies House reforms to improve transparency and prevent fraud.
⚠️ After this date, nothing will be able to be submitted to Companies House — including confirmation statements, accounts, or any other filings — unless the relevant individuals have completed identity verification.
We contacted all directors earlier in the year to request their personal verification codes, but many have not yet provided these.
It is very important that we receive your code as soon as possible so that we can continue to act on your behalf once the new rules come into effect.
✅ Verification is completed through a GOV.UK One Login linked to Companies House.
✅ Without verification, you will not be able to act for your company or file on its behalf.
If you are unsure what this means for you or need help completing the process, please get in touch — we are happy to assist.
