Think hitting the 'delete button' on your messy Xero account will magically solve all your bookkeeping headaches?
Xero is a powerful tool that can take bank reconciliation, invoicing, bookkeeping, payroll and tax reporting off your desk and build the reports you run your business on.
However, over time, errors can slip in and things can start to drift. Your figures don’t match up and your reports look off. You fix one thing and another appears.
Deleting your Xero and starting from scratch sounds so tempting when reports stop making sense and figures drift off track. But here’s the harsh truth: Xero doesn't actually have a reset button.
Starting again means setting up a brand new organisation, exporting key data, importing files, and moving direct bank feeds across.
Plus, if the root problem lives in your underlying data, you’ll just end up importing those exact same errors right into your fresh account.
Before you do anything drastic, remember that most issues (like duplicate invoices, mismatched bank lines, or imported statement errors) can be fixed in a fraction of the time, without the need to start over.
In our latest article, learn all about why a clean up may be best preferred.
And if you do need a reset, find out what's involved, and what you should do FIRST...💡
