According to a study carried out by the Money and Mental Health Policy Institute in 2023, 40% of retirees with mental health issues were worried that their pension would not last them through retirement.

In comparison - the research shows that just over 25% of those without mental health problems experience the same worry.

For individuals with mental health problems, the barriers to saving for retirement and making the most of pension savings can become intensified.

At Path Financial, we believe in campaigning for better pension awareness and education, so that everyone can make the most of their golden days.

It was a pleasure to attend the Green Party Autumn conference last weekend. As the only financial advisory organisation in attendance, it was great to chat to existing Path clients as well as a number of new faces about positive impact and climate-focused investing.

Path Financial Customer Service Champion, Carla Gerlach, manned our stand alongside a team of Path advisers. Speaking about the weekend, Carla said it was great to witness a higher understanding and awareness of ethical finance from the public than in previous years.

“The mood was very upbeat and we had a great deal of engaging conversations with a wide range of people who seemed genuinely keen to make a difference, with many of them having already given some consideration into thinking about ethical financial choices.”

We are delighted to announce that we are in the FT Adviser Top 10 Boutique Financial Advisers list, where we proudly rank in 6th place.

The FT Adviser Top 50 Boutique Financial Advisers list aims to award smaller firms that are committed to excellence for their clients and looks at a variety of factors, including gross inflows throughout the year, client retention, the number of registered individuals, the chartered or accredited status of the firm and its length of service.

Richard Ravelin, Path Financial’s General Manager says:
“Really proud to see the team recognised like this. It’s a great reflection of the trust our clients place in us and the work we do together.”

AI’s rapid growth is driving huge demand for electricity, but generating enough power is only part of the challenge. Increasingly, the constraint is getting that electricity to data centres through the grid.

In her latest blog post, Path Research & Investment Analyst, Zarya Moal, talks about how the infrastructure supporting artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly physical.

Nature is increasingly being recognised not just as something to protect, but as critical economic infrastructure. As markets begin to place greater value on restoration and natural capital, this is changing the way businesses and investors think about the economic role of nature.

In his latest blog post, Path Founder & Chair David Macdonald, writes about the growing economic importance of nature.

According to new analysis from Save the Children, in the first six months of 2026, the number of children in the UK exposed to extreme heatwaves has already exceeded the total in any previous calendar year since 1995.

The findings also reveal that 132 million children and over 631 million people globally have experienced heatwaves in the same period, with numbers only expecting to rise over the coming months.

It’s Pension Awareness Week!

At Path Financial, we help you align your pensions and investments with your goals, values and sustainability preferences.

Our vision is to empower our clients to invest in what truly matters to them — supporting their financial future while considering the wider environmental and social characteristics of their investments.

We analyse your existing pensions and investments to help you understand what your money is invested in, including exposure to industries and activities that may conflict with your values. Where appropriate, we can then help you consider a strategy that is better aligned with your financial objectives, attitude to risk and sustainability preferences.
