Bad Hats is thrilled to be launching the eighth cycle of our New Bad Ideas program! We’re looking for writer / composer teams to apply with a new, great, bad, bold, strange, exciting idea that could use support getting to its next draft. This is a paid opportunity! Our little team is growing once again - meet our new Creative Producer Intern: Madeline Disera! Maddie has been hanging with Bad Hats on and off since 2021, and we’re so excited to have her with us for the next year where we’re sure to learn as much from her as she does from us.

Madeline Disera (she/her) is a theatre creator from a small farm in Tiny, Ontario (yes, there’s really a town called Tiny), who has loved dance and theatre from a young age.

Madeline is passionate about shepherding productions from an idea to a finished work, and aims to centre joy, laughter, community, and connection in her process. She has had the privilege to collaborate with many wonderful companies, including Theatre By the Bay, Bad Hats Theatre, Bad New Days, WritersFest, Scapegoat Carnivale, Theatre Sheridan, and the Kick & Push Festival, and is grateful for the unique ways each has shaped her career.
