Raging beach waterfalls, storm watching and no crowds make this a great month to go. 🌲 March - Forest bathing among the old growth. The rainy, mild winters make the forests extra green and mossy. 💦 April - Go waterfall hunting. High rainfall and snowmelt means the waterfalls are flowing! 🐋 May - Go whale watching. This season is from April to October and May is a great time to go before it gets too busy. 🍷 June - Winery tour in Cowichan Valley and Comox Valley. Warm weather, long days and less tourists make this month perfect for a tour. 💙 July - Hike to an alpine lake. The snow and ice have melted, there’s no rain, and the nights are warmer for camping. Key hikes are 5040, Century Sam, Landslide Lake, Cream Lake, and Love Lake. 👙 August - Float down the Cowichan River. A 7km natural lazy river in the warmest and driest month. 🥾 September - Explore North Vancouver Island. With less rain, less tourists and summer temperatures, this is a great month to visit (see our pinned Reel for an itinerary!). 🍁 October - Go leaf peeping. Fall foliage isn’t as easy to come by on the island. But here is where you can find it: Butchart Gardens, Cathedral Grove, Fort Rodd Hill, Goldstream, East Sooke Park, Englishman River, Stamp River and Elk Falls. 🐟 November - Watch the salmon run. This season is from August to December with the peak being in November. 👀 December - Go storm watching. Key spots are in Tofino, Ucluelet and Juan de Fuca Provincial Park.
