When you hear that unemployment is down and jobs increased, understanding the numbers allows you not to be fooled by headlines.
Part time jobs expected to drop by 66K but increased by 17.5K
Full time expected to rise by 55K but only increased by 0.6K
Although overall jobs were higher, the important full time jobs were flat.
The unemployment rate dropped to 6.5% due to lower immigration.
The only positive number was the average wages going up.
Financial Literacy allows you to see what is really going on as oppose to what some want you to believe.

The economy is a natural flow system.
Government and central banks can redirect only a small portion of the flow.
Every intervention creates new imbalances that require further intervention.
The more they try to control, the more distortions appear.
And the costs of these distortions fall mostly on ordinary people.

Todays jobs numbers show that, although the unemployment rate is constant, jobs that were added were PART-TIME, while FULL-TIME jobs decreased in Canada.
Average Hourly Wage rose to 5.1% showing that employees are working longer hours.
Labour Market - Positive for rate cuts
Wage Growth - Negative for rate cuts
NET - Slightly positive for rate cuts
What the BoC will likely say (if they spoke today)
“Labour market continues to ease.”
“Wage growth remains elevated and inconsistent with price stability.”
“We need more evidence inflation is sustainably moving to 2%.”
That’s classic wait‑and‑see language.

Taking CPP at age 60 in Canada.
Consider, investment of early payments, current value of money in todays terms, inflation errosion of later premiums and, if you have pensions or investment incomes, in the increased taxes you will pay.
For many, who are doing well or have pension and investment income, the delaying of payments can make you worse off.
Unfortunately, most only look at the large 36% increased payment. It's simple, it looks great and without considering all other factors, makes perfect sense. And following this seemingly sounds advice to wait, may be to your detriment.
Financial Literacy matters.

Financial literacy means different things to different people. For us, it’s simple: being MONEY SMART.
Being money smart isn’t just about budgeting, managing debt, or even understanding how money works on the surface. It goes further. It’s about understanding money as a tool—why it exists, how it moves, and how systems and businesses profit when you follow conventional spending habits.
Being MONEY SMART means seeing the mechanics behind the money.
It transforms financial literacy from basic knowledge into a real, practical understanding of how wealth is created.
