Commonwealth Seniors Health Card (CSHC)

The income limits for CSHC have increased to $95,400 for singles, and $152,640 (combined) for couples. This is adjusted taxable income plus deeming on any account-based income streams.

Rent assistance increase

Rent assistance has increased from 20 Sep 2023. The maximum rent assistance is $184.80 p.f. for singles, and $174.00 p.f. (combined) for couples. To get the maximum rent assistance, a single must be paying $194.90 p.w. rent, couples $232.20 p.w.

Pension increase

From 20 Sep 2023 the pension has increased by $32.70 p.f. for singles, and $24.70 p.f. (each) for couples. The full pension is now $1096.70 p.f. for singles, and $826.70 p.f. for couples. It usually takes two pays to receive your full increase. This is because the date of the increase falls partway through your payment fortnight.
