There’s been plenty of chatter today about Victoria’s proposed work-from-home rules and whether they mean land tax changes.
We joined 3AW to set the record straight:
- Employees working from home for wages keep the Principal Place of Residence exemption.
- Land tax only applies if a substantial business is being run from home (for example, more than 30% floor space, or income above $30,000).
You can read and listen here via 3AW: https://www.3aw.com.au/proposed-work-from-home-mandate-could-have-major-implications-for-land

🚨 Tax Tip Alert! 🚨
Hi, I'm Roy Sanderson from RJ Sanderson & Associates, and here’s something you really need to know if you're paying for income protection insurance 👇
💡 If you're estimating your income at $120K but only earning $80K, guess what?
If you ever make a claim, the insurer only pays out based on your actual income in this case, $80K.
That means all the extra premiums you paid for that $120K estimate? 💸
Wasted. Gone. You never get it back.
✅ Tip of the day: Always update your income estimate to reflect reality. It could save you thousands.
