Are you a trustee of a Trust?

You must prepare and sign the trust distribution minute for the 2024/25 financial year before 30 June 2025.

Why is this date important? Well, it won't affect your accountant if they do it after 30 June, as it's not the accountant's responsibility. It's ALL on the trustee.

If the resolution isn't signed before 30 June, this can mean the trust distribution can be amended by the ATO to be allocated to the "default beneficiaries (if any)" or otherwise "Where a trustee is assessed, that may be at the top rate of tax."

Please make sure you get this done!
