From 1 July 2026, employers will need to pay superannuation contributions within 7 days of each payday under the new Payday Super rules. This includes super for company directors.

This is a significant change from the current quarterly super payment requirements and means businesses will need to ensure their payroll and cash flow processes are ready.

Now is the time to review your payroll systems and processes to make sure you’re prepared before the changes take effect.

Need help understanding how Payday Super will impact your business? Contact the team at Go Further Accounting today.

Budget changes to trust taxation & negative gearing:

Morning all, as some of you may have heard there are major changes coming to taxation of trust distributions & negative gearing as a result of the budget.

Trust changes: The government is putting a minimum 30% tax on trust distributions, which is a major change. This does not come into effect until the 01/07/2028. There is no immediate change needed. We are assessing the changes as details are released and will be in contact with you to discuss a suitable plan for the future. Nothing changes for you this financial year.

Negative Gearing: The government is also making changes to negative gearing. Please note this does not affect existing properties owned before budget night. Unless you are looking at purchasing a new investment property between now and 30 June, these changes will not affect you.

We will continue to keep you updated & be talking to you about these changes as we complete your 2026 tax returns!

For more information you can view a summary of the budget changes here:
