π UAE employers - this one is for your onboarding checklist.
The ILOE (Involuntary Loss of Employment) insurance scheme has been mandatory for all UAE private sector employees since January 2023, including free zone staff under DMCC, JAFZA, and others.
The employer pays nothing. But employees who miss the subscription deadline face a AED 400 fine, and unresolved fines can block work permit renewals.
Here's what the scheme covers in a nutshell:
π Payout: 60% of basic salary for up to 3 months after involuntary termination
π Coverage follows the employee's Emirates ID β not the employer
β οΈ Non-subscription fine: AED 400
At Altus Citadel, we now recommend all our clients include ILOE guidance in new hire onboarding. It takes minutes to set up and protects your employees from day one.

π₯Most financial advisory firms that enter the UAE pick the wrong licence, and it costs them months and serious money to fix it.
The UAE has three completely different regulatory frameworks for financial advisory businesses. Each one has different capital requirements, ownership rules, and client access. Choose the wrong one and you are either locked out of the clients you want, or facing a costly re-licensing process down the line.
We have put together a complete guide breaking down:
β SCA vs DFSA vs ADGM - which one is right for your business
β Capital requirements and ownership rules
β Banking setup and what UAE banks actually expect
β Tax position and substance requirements
β How to structure your application from day one
Whether you are an entrepreneur, an established advisory firm, or a wealth manager looking to enter the Gulf market, this one is worth a read.

β οΈ UAE Business Owners!
The FTA is actively conducting inspections and issuing fines for non-compliant tax invoices, with penalties of AED 2,500 per incorrect or incomplete invoice.
A valid tax invoice in the UAE must meet 11 specific requirements set by the Federal Tax Authority, from displaying your TRN correctly to showing VAT amounts per line item and the correct totals.
Getting this wrong isn't just a paperwork issue. It's a fine that adds up fast.
We have outlined everything you need to know in our latest article π

Here's a quick summary of what's changed:
πΉ E-invoicing is mandatory for all UAE businesses β VAT registered or not
πΉ Invoices must contain up to 51 structured data fields
πΉ You must connect through an MOF-Accredited Service Provider (ASP)
πΉ Your ERP or billing system may need updating
πΉ VAT groups have a 2-year grace period for internal transactions
The good news? There's still time to prepare, but action needs to start now.
