3 weeks. That’s what’s left.
If your financial year ended 31 December 2025, your UAE Corporate Tax return is due 30 September 2026.
Filing and payment fall on the same date. There is no separate payment window.
Miss it and here’s what happens:
⚠️ AED 500 per month late-filing penalty
⚠️ Interest accrues on unpaid tax
⚠️ Your compliance record follows you into every future FTA interaction
Before you file, have these ready
📁 Audited or management financial statements
📁 Corporate Tax registration confirmed and active
📁 Related-party and connected-person transactions mapped
📁 Free Zone status assessed (if applicable)
📁 Elections decided — Small Business Relief, realisation basis, transfers within a group
📁 Records retained for 7 years from the end of the tax period
Most businesses don’t miss the deadline because they forgot. They miss it because reconciliation took three weeks longer than they planned.

Filing-week urgency (schedule for early September)
The FTA portal doesn’t care that your auditor is slow.
30 September 2026. Return filed. Tax paid. Same day.
Here’s what actually goes wrong in September — every year, in the same order 👇
🔴 Week 1: “We’ll start Monday.”
🟠 Week 2: Financial statements aren’t final. Auditor needs two more weeks.
🟡 Week 3: Related-party transactionsy surface that nobody documented.
🔴 Week 4: Election decisions get made in a panic, not on the numbers.
⚫ 30 September: Filed, but nobody’s confident it’s right.
A rushed return isn’t just stressful. It’s the one that gets a question later.
Don’t panic. You still have time - just follow these steps.
What a calm September looks like:
✅ Statements finalised by 5 September
✅ Related-party positions documented, not remembered
✅ Elections modelled against actual figures
✅ Payment funded before the last week
✅ Filed by 20 September, with buffer
There’s still time to have that version. There won’t be in three weeks.
Start today. Comment “SEPT” or DM us — we’ll tell you in 20 minutes whether your timeline is realistic.Save. Share. Don’t be week 4.

Tax Group Update — effective from Jan 2025 tax periods:
The AED 50M audit threshold for tax groups has been completely removed.
ALL tax groups — regardless of size — must now prepare Audited Special Purpose Financial Statements.
No exceptions. No minimum threshold.
This change impacts 2026 filings NOW.

Do you NEED an audit in UAE? Here’s the rule:
Revenue > AED 50M → Mandatory audit
Free Zone QFZP status → Mandatory audit (any revenue size)
Tax Groups → Mandatory audited group financials
Revenue < AED 50M, non-QFZP mainland → Not mandatory for CT (but licensing authority may still require it)
QFZP businesses: skipping your audit could cost you your 0% tax status — retroactively.

Consider forming a Tax Group — one consolidated CT return for all entities.
✅ 95%+ common ownership required
✅ Parent files on behalf of the whole group
✅ Losses in one entity can offset profits in another
⚠️ Each company must be individually registered first!

Electing SBR & Tax Losses
SBR sounds great — but there’s a hidden catch.
Elect Small Business Relief → taxable income = zero
BUT you also forfeit the right to carry forward tax losses
For loss-making businesses, preserving those losses for 2027 may be worth more than the relief today.
Talk to a tax advisor before you auto-elect SBR.
