The UAE Ministry of Finance has introduced new VAT amendments covering cash payments above specified limits, employee accommodation, medical products and input tax recovery.

The amendments are intended to simplify VAT procedures, provide greater clarity and minimise disputes. Businesses may face limits on input tax recovery for certain high-value cash payments, while provisions related to employee housing and input tax apportionment have been further clarified.

The updated rules also revise the VAT treatment of medical products, capital assets and composite supplies, supporting stronger compliance and bringing the UAE VAT framework closer to international best practices.
